Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors, headquartered in Hamilton Street in Govanhill, recently underwent a major refurbishment programme to its hearse and limousine storage facilities and were able to use the premises of the neighbouring Polmadie Community Fire Station to temporarily garage their fleet.
As a thank you to the Scottish Fire Service and under the umbrella of the Anderson Maguire Foundation Programme, £150 has been donated to the Scottish Fire Service’s Family Support Trust. Collection boxes for the Trust will also be displayed in all branches of Anderson Maguire.
Ross Whitelaw, Watch Manager at Polmadie Community Fire Station said:
We were delighted to be able to help Anderson Maguire with their storage need and are very happy to be able to support businesses within our local communities.
“I wish to extend my thanks for the generous gift from Anderson Maguire to the Family Support Trust which provides support and assistance for the benefit of Service personnel, retired members and their families following bereavement, periods of illness, stress, or to assist with longer term health conditions.”
Paul Webb, Managing Director of Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors, said:
As a business, we take a very proactive role in the communities we work in and given that Scottish Fire and Rescue provide such a vital service to everyone, we are delighted to be able to donate to the Family Support Trust. We will also actively market their valuable service within our funeral homes by providing donation boxes and informative literature.”
